News Letter in March 2009

Time is flowing so fast. We have celebrated New Year 2009 and it seems just like yesterday but we are already in March. It is incredible. Well, it is time to update our JCF news letter.

We have had a great Christmas and New Year time. Some students have graduated their courses and went back to Japan or moved to other cities.

Yuko graduated 2 year course in Polytechnic and went back to Japan to keep studying English Literature in University in Japan.

Many high school students finished their course in NZ and went to America, Canada or back to Japan. We pray for them to go to church in Japan or anywhere they are as they came to JCF regularly in Dunedin.

Shinya has graduated his accounting course in Polytechnic and got a certificate of accountancy He tried to find a job in Dunedin but was unable. He is now in Christchurch looking for a job. He applied to many different companies. Gideon’s family visited Shinya in Christchurch and found he is happilyy to attending JCF in Christchurch every Sunday. We continuously pray for his Baptism and continued fellowshipat JCF.

Some other high school students such as Polytechnic students and high students especially Seiya, Syunya, Miki and Saya are leaving Dunedin, 18th of March, and back to Japan for studying at University this year. The term in Japan starts in April. Please remember them and pray for their salvation and attending to church near from their places. .

New Polytechnic students are coming late April. Please remember them and pray that they might come to our JCF regularly, and we believe that God will save some of them this year.

Recently Sue, from Malaysia, has attended JCF with her family and her daughter’s friend. Another high school girl who comes from Hong Kong attends JCF every Sunday. Sue is going to apply for permanent residency. Please remember and pray for this, and their openness to God’s word.

We have enjoyed every first Sunday as an English only lesson, led by Rachel Pettigrew for the last couple of months. During this time some Korean friends have also joined with us, and just enjoy the time what God says to us through the Bible.

All the students of University came back and the city is busy again and feels very alive. It is good time to outreach to them with the Gospel.

A group of about 40 Korean youth from Christchurch will come to Dunedin 22nd in April they will share the Gospel, delivering tracts to people in Dunedin, especially to students and they will show them Korean traditional performance from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at Octagon, and Knox church hall at 7pm on 23rd in April. They will go to Milton Presbyterian church to share the Gospel in the streets and invite them to the church and they will lead a special service and traditional performances from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Please remember this and pray for God’s wonderful harvest of souls.

We praise God for sending many different people to JCF last couple of months and we also trust in God who will work greatly for their salvation.

We can say God is so good all the time. Praise the Lord!!!

God bless you all!

Pastor Gideon and Grace Chang
